In a recent campaign to promote self love - one of the projects by Vision One World's Antiquity United Circle, here are some beautiful replies received in answer to "What does self love mean to you...."
Intimate gatherings, heart-centered workshops, soulful conversations and lots of questions and answers over coffee and cakes! I host the Antiquity United Circle regularly, designed to bring back the village in an attempt to fight loneliness. I stress on bringing our community back together again by sharing all our intimate stories with each other - stories we are too afraid to talk about to our own family we they just won't get it - or maybe we have tried and they really don't - stories we are too scared to tell others because we are stuck behind the facade of perfect smiles, stories we bury deep inside of us because we feel no one will understand, nor even care. Stories we keep pushing deep within us just because we have other, more important things or people to take care of rather than our own self. Until those stories become so monumental within every fibre in our bodies that sometimes we want to finish it all.......I know....
Because I am that someone. Today, after living through every battle internally and alone in my life, I am here to build a community because I know first hand that there is no bravado in fighting alone. That it is not the end. Today I am truly happy and successful after having gone through decades of living in survival mode. I have learned among many things, that we need each other, even though we have to be responsible for our own lives. Exemplifying through my own story that second chances after extreme states of hopelessness and loneliness and extreme thoughts IS possible and beautifully so, I have formed the Antiquity United Circle.
I am a living and thriving example, standing tall on my feet to show you, that it's never too late, and it's definitely never the end.....nothing is.
To anyone joining the Antiquity United Circle, I am thankful to you for seeing hope in the power of the village coming back together.
